Uhuru Urges Kenyans to Exercise Road Safety During Christmas Travel
Speaking on Friday during Kabarak University’s graduation ceremony, Mr Kenyatta reminded motorists and travellers to prioritise safety as traffic increases during Christmas and New Year celebrations

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to remain vigilant on the roads as they travel during the festive season, warning that carelessness could lead to avoidable accidents
Speaking on Friday during Kabarak University’s graduation ceremony, Mr Kenyatta reminded motorists and travellers to prioritise safety as traffic increases during Christmas and New Year celebrations
“I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. As you travel to celebrate with your families, please remain vigilant on the roads,” he said

Beyond road safety, the retired president challenged graduating students to become ambassadors of Kenya by using their skills and knowledge to raise the country’s global profile
“Be at the forefront. Your success will not only reflect Kabarak University but Kenya and Africa as a whole,” he told the graduates

Mr Kenyatta noted that the modern world places more value on ideas than borders, urging young professionals to tap into opportunities in sectors where Kenya is already making a mark, including ICT, fintech and renewable energy
“You are entering a world where ideas matter more than borders. With your skills, you can position Kenya as a hub of innovation not just in Africa, but globally,” he added
He further encouraged the graduates to take advantage of emerging opportunities at home as Kenya continues to shape itself into one of Africa’s leading economic hubs
