The National Construction Authority (NCA) has confirmed that the building that collapsed on January 10 in Karen Ward, Lang’ata Sub-County, Nairobi, was not registered

“The occurrence took place during concrete casting works at the carport area of the structure,” NCA stated. Preliminary assessments suggest a suspected failure of the formwork system, which gave way under the weight of fresh concrete

The plot, reportedly owned by Moses Nyakiongora, remains suspended while rescue operations, concluded on Sunday evening, have cleared the site. Authorities have cordoned off the area pending further investigation
