Opposition Leaders Promise to “Teach Ruto a Lesson” in 2027 After Dismissing His Western Kenya Tour

The united opposition has issued a bold declaration, vowing to “teach President William Ruto a lesson” in the 2027 presidential election starting with the results of the upcoming by-elections
The statement came in response to President Ruto’s recent remarks dismissing the opposition’s chances of defeating him in the next general election. Opposition leaders accused the Head of State of “recycling” old projects during his recent visit to Western Kenya in an attempt to woo the Mulembe community

“Ulisikia vile ametudharau? Sisi tunamwambia kwamba tutamuonyesha cha mtema kuni kwenye uchaguzi zijazo,” declared Wamalwa, adding that the Mulembe nation was now politically enlightened and would not be deceived again
“Watu wa Mulembe wamechanuka, hakuna mjinga… tumeshaaamua kwamba hatutaruhusu tudangwanywe tena,” he emphasized
The leaders further criticized the President for re-launching infrastructure projects that had already been unveiled, calling it a sign of desperation

“Amekuja ku-launch the same same barabara ambayo tayari ali-launch upande mwingine,” Malala noted, while Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale reminded the public that Malala had been present during the project’s earlier launch
The opposition figures rallied residents of Malava to vote for DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako, who is now the joint opposition choice after DCP candidate Edgar Busiega withdrew from the race in his favor
As the political temperatures rise, the upcoming by-elections are being seen as a test run for the 2027 showdown between President Ruto’s camp and the newly united opposition front
