DCP Sweeps Three MCA Seats in By-Elections, Marking Party’s Early Success
Celebrating the victories on social media, Gachagua thanked voters for rejecting voter bribery and commended them for exercising their democratic rights despite intimidation, goons, and police violence

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) has won three Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats in Thursday’s by-elections
In Kariobangi North Ward, DCP’s David Wanyoike Warui emerged victorious with 2,282 votes, defeating independent candidate John Kimanzi who garnered 1,956 votes
ODM’s Majua Michael Ouma came third with 1,351 votes, while UDA’s Njoka Julius Maina secured 955 votes. The seat became vacant following the death of former MCA Joel Munuve in April
In Narok Town Ward, DCP’s Douglas Makonde clinched the seat with 6,007 votes, surpassing UDA’s Robert Kanyinke Ole Kudate, who received 4,479 votes

DCP also took Kisa East Ward, where Aduda Okwiri won with 1,952 votes, ahead of Joel Ongoro of the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG), who got 1,541 votes

He encouraged future candidates under DCP to stay grounded and engage actively with the electorate
“These wins show that even as a new party, only seven months old, DCP can challenge long-established parties,” Gachagua wrote
