Bandari FC interim head coach Razak Siwa has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness as the Dockers prepare to face defending champions Gor Mahia in a crucial Kenya Premier League fixture at Mbaraki Stadium on Friday evening
Siwa, who took over following the dismissal of head coach Mohammed Borji, told Citizen Digital that the squad is well-prepared and motivated to secure maximum points
“It’s not the first time I’m being asked to lead a big team,” Siwa said, recalling his stint at Tanzania’s Yanga SC. “I coached them before 50,000 fans and we won a trophy. So there’s no pressure we’re ready for the Gor Mahia encounter”

Team captain Andrew Juma echoed his coach’s sentiments, noting that despite recent upheavals at the club, the players remain focused
“We’ve gone several matches without a win, so we must give our best,” Juma stated. “A lot has happened this week, but we’re not distracted. Gor Mahia are a big team, but we’re prepared to fight for three points. We’re not in a good position on the table, and we need this win”
Gor Mahia enter the match under pressure after suffering back-to-back defeats—4-1 to APS Bomet and 1-0 to AFC Leopards

Bandari CEO Tony Kibwana described the recent restructuring within the technical bench as necessary to restore stability and momentum
“We’ve made changes, and I believe they will bring positive results going forward,” Kibwana said. “Our players are professionals who understand such transitions. Our full focus is on securing three points against Gor Mahia”
The coastal club recently disbanded its management board and parted ways with Borji and his assistant Tarik Bendamou after only two months in charge, following a series of poor results
Bandari now hopes the shake-up will inspire a turnaround as they host a wounded Gor Mahia at Mbaraki
