Two Arrested for Orchestrating Fake Robbery on British Man, Stealing Ksh.800,000 in Nyali

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the prime suspect, Samira Mumbi Kiarie, had been communicating with the foreigner online for months, professing love and convincing him to visit her in Kenya

Two suspects have been arrested in Mombasa for allegedly staging a fake robbery on a British national during their first in-person date, making away with Ksh.800,000

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the prime suspect, Samira Mumbi Kiarie, had been communicating with the foreigner online for months, professing love and convincing him to visit her in Kenya

Moments after the victim arrived at Samira’s apartment in Nyali, two men stormed in. One posed as Samira’s husband, while the other pretended to be a police officer, flashing a fake ID

The “husband” accused the Briton of wrecking his marriage, while the fake officer threatened to arrest him. Under pressure, the victim was forced to transfer Ksh.800,000 to phone numbers provided by the suspects before being escorted out of the house

After the ordeal, the two men vanished into the night. DCI detectives later arrested Samira and her accomplice Paul Webster Mangeni, uncovering that they are part of a syndicate targeting foreigners through dating sites
