As the Odinga family prepares for the burial of Raila Odinga’s sister, Beryl Achieng, grief has struck once more with the sudden death of her stepdaughter, Adongo Ambala
Adongo, who worked for the Kisumu County government, was the daughter of Beryl’s late ex-husband, Otieno Ambala, a former Gem MP who passed away in 1985
The family confirmed that Beryl will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County, with arrangements approved by Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga
A memorial service for Beryl is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Consolata Shrine in Westlands

Meanwhile, Adongo Ambala passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025. She leaves behind three children: Iris Apiyo, Sophie Adongo, and Finn Okello
Her memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Milimani, Kisumu, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at midday, followed by an overnight vigil at the family home in Chulaimbo
Her burial will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, just a day before Beryl’s funeral
