In a statement shared on his X account, Kigame accused the bus company of allowing what he termed a “rogue driver” to operate one of its vehicles. He also faulted Vihiga County officials and national road agencies, including the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), over what he described as the poor condition of the road where the incident occurred

“Easy Coach, you wanted to kill us this morning. You came with full lights aiming at us and drove us into the ditch. Shame on you as a company, shame on your drivers, Vihiga County, the Kenya Highways Authority and the NTSA. If it was not for God, I would be dead together with my friends here,” Kigame wrote

Kigame was reportedly en route to speak at the University of Eldoret at the time of the incident

No injuries were reported, and Easy Coach had not issued a public response by the time of publication
