One Arrested as Police Recover AP Uniform, Copper Wire in Isinya Raid

Police have launched investigations in Isinya, Kajiado County, following the recovery of Administration Police uniforms, copper wire and other items believed to be linked to suspected criminal activity.

Police have launched investigations in Isinya, Kajiado County, following the recovery of Administration Police uniforms, copper wire and other items believed to be linked to suspected criminal activity.

The operation, conducted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), targeted a hideout in Majengo area where detectives reportedly found suspects in the process of stripping insulation from copper wires.

According to the police, the suspects were burning the copper wire to remove its insulation when officers moved in. The individuals allegedly managed to escape before detectives could arrest them.

A subsequent search of a house associated with the suspects led to the recovery of several items, including Administration Police clothing.

Among the items recovered were an AP beret, shirt, jungle jacket, trousers and a maroon belt. Detectives also found tools believed to have been used in handling the copper wire, including pliers and tin snips.

Police further recovered solar equipment and additional quantities of copper wire during the operation.

The presence of police uniform items has prompted detectives to widen their investigations as they seek to establish why the clothing was in the house and whether it was connected to any criminal activities.

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the operation, while other individuals believed to be involved remain at large.

Detectives attached to the Isinya Directorate of Criminal Investigations office have taken over the case and are pursuing additional leads to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects.

Investigators are also working to establish the source of the recovered copper wire and determine whether it was stolen property.

Copper cables and other electrical infrastructure have frequently been targeted by criminals because of the value of the metal, with theft potentially disrupting electricity and telecommunications services.

The recovery of the AP uniform has added another dimension to the investigation, with detectives expected to establish whether the items were obtained through legitimate means or were acquired for purposes connected to criminal activity.

Police have also indicated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks involved in the theft and handling of valuable materials.

Authorities are expected to examine the recovered equipment and other items as investigations continue. The evidence could help detectives establish the identities and roles of other people who may have been involved.

The suspect who has been arrested is expected to assist investigators as they work to piece together the circumstances surrounding the recovered items.

Detectives are also pursuing leads that could result in the recovery of additional property suspected to have been stolen.

The latest operation comes amid continued police efforts to combat organised theft and other forms of criminal activity in different parts of the country.

Investigations in Isinya remain ongoing, with police yet to disclose further details regarding the identity of the arrested suspect or any possible charges.

Authorities are expected to provide additional information as the inquiry progresses and more suspects are identified.
