President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have expressed deep sorrow over the death of Johana Ng’eno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, who died in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County
In a statement issued on Friday evening, President Ruto said he received the news of Ng’eno’s passing with “profound shock and deep sadness,” describing the legislator as a progressive and devoted public servant
“My friend, Mheshimiwa Ng’eno, was a progressive and devoted servant of the people who worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Emurua Dikirr, Narok County,” the President said

Ruto eulogized Ng’eno as focused, vocal, and fearless, noting his dedication to justice, equity, and the development of his constituency. The President also highlighted the late MP’s support for local talent, particularly in the music industry
He extended condolences to the families of all those affected by the helicopter crash, calling the incident a national tragedy
Deputy President Kindiki also paid tribute, describing Ng’eno as a dear friend, a courageous leader, and a committed member of the ruling party

“My prayers go to the family and constituents of my dear friend Johana Ng’eno… following his demise in a tragic helicopter crash earlier this evening,” Kindiki said
Kindiki added that Ng’eno loved Kenya deeply and cherished his heritage, emphasizing the difficulty of coming to terms with the sudden loss of “a great son of our nation”
