Mother Arrested in Nakuru for Injuring Child Over Potatoes

NAKURU — A 27-year-old mother of three has been arrested after allegedly injuring her six-year-old child for failing to peel potatoes

The incident occurred in Gacharage village, Kuresoi North, Nakuru County. Authorities confirmed the woman is currently in police custody at Sachoran Police Station

Area Police Commander Julius Kadenge said the young boy was rushed to a hospital with head injuries and has since returned home

Neighbors reported that the mother locked herself inside the house before attacking the child with a panga, inflicting four cuts to his head and face

When confronted, the woman reportedly claimed she had only used a cooking stick

The case is under investigation, and police are determining the next steps
