Moses Kuria Warns Ruto Against Interfering in Mbeere North By-Election
During a media briefing on Saturday, November 22, Kuria accused leaders from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance of attempting to compromise the integrity of the mini-poll
Embu, Kenya – November 23, 2025: Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has issued a stern warning to President William Ruto over alleged plans to influence the Mbeere North by-election set for November 27
During a media briefing on Saturday, November 22, Kuria accused leaders from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance of attempting to compromise the integrity of the mini-poll
The Chama Cha Kazi Party leader urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to act decisively against any actions that threaten the safety of candidates and voters

Kuria condemned the rising political violence in Narok, Mbeere North, and Bungoma, cautioning that such unrest could tarnish Kenya’s international reputation ahead of the 2027 General Election
“If you think whatever happened in Tanzania will be replicated here, think again. Kenyans are not Tanzanians. Don’t try it here. Any plot to rig elections will fail,” he said
He emphasized that Kenyans’ tolerance for electoral malpractice is at an all-time low and warned that attempts to manipulate the vote would not succeed
