Migori Youth FC extended their impressive National Super League (NSL) run with a commanding 2-0 victory over Nairobi City Stars, solidifying their place at the top of the standings over the weekend
The league leaders now sit firmly at the summit with 19 points after eight rounds, three points ahead of second-placed Mombasa United

Speaking to Citizen Digital, head coach Samuel Owano credited the win to disciplined execution and a well-defined tactical plan
He emphasized that despite their strong start, the team remains grounded and focused:
“There is nothing to celebrate yet; we are just preparing based on who comes next. Our target is to remain in a safe position,” Owano said

The coach revealed that the team’s early-season objective is to hit the 30-point mark as quickly as possible, ensuring safety from relegation worries and providing a foundation to chase bigger goals
He added that securing safety early will allow the players to play with more creativity and confidence as the season progresses
Migori Youth’s consistent performances and strategic discipline continue to set them apart as early NSL favourites
