Police in Kisumu Central Sub-county have arrested Kibuye Market chairlady Judith Matengo, popularly known as Nyaramba, after a viral video showed her assaulting two female traders with a wooden rod

The victims, Mercy Okoth and Rozette Adhiambo, have both recorded statements with police. According to a police report, the two sustained soft-tissue injuries during the broad-daylight attack, which was filmed by fellow traders
They later sought treatment at Lumumba Sub-county Hospital

Investigators say the motive behind the assault is still unclear, and police are pursuing additional suspects believed to have been involved
Matengo is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday to face charges related to the incident
