Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno will be laid to rest on Friday, March 6, following his death in a helicopter crash in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County

According to the family, the burial arrangements were finalized after consultations between leaders and relatives in the wake of the February 28 crash in Chepkiep

A requiem mass is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, at Nairobi Baptist Church, where leaders, friends, and constituents are expected to gather to pay their last respects

On Thursday, March 5, a night vigil will be held in accordance with Kipsigis traditions as part of the cultural rites honoring the late legislator and others who perished in the crash

Patrick Ole Ntutu, the Governor of Narok and Ng’eno’s father-in-law, confirmed that the bodies of Ng’eno and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono will spend the night at his home. He noted that the two were married under Kipsigis customary rites

He further stated that the remaining four victims, who were unmarried at the time of their deaths, will also be taken to Ng’eno’s home in keeping with family wishes and Kipsigis customs

A joint burial service will be conducted on Friday at Emurua Dikirr Primary School, where thousands of mourners are expected to attend. Thereafter, the bodies will be transported to their respective homes for separate interments later that day

The tragic crash has drawn an outpouring of grief from leaders and residents across the region as they prepare to bid farewell to the late lawmaker and the other victims
