Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is set to lead a series of public engagements in Murang’a County as opposition activities continue to gather pace across the country.
According to his itinerary, the former Deputy President will start the day with a church service at ACK Nyakagumo Church in Maragua town. He will later hold a series of “meet the people” forums in Maragua town, Kenol and the Progas area in Kabati.
The Murang’a tour comes a day after Gachagua led a public rally in Dagoretti South, Nairobi, where he conducted a grassroots mobilisation drive aimed at popularising the DCP and engaging supporters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In recent days, Gachagua has intensified his outreach, making stops in areas including Githurai, Ruiru, Kikuyu and parts of Murang’a County.

During the Dagoretti South rally, he addressed the issue of rising fuel costs, calling on President William Ruto to reduce pump prices. He issued a seven-day ultimatum for action, stating that failure to lower the cost of fuel would result in nationwide protests.
Gachagua also accused the government of failing to meet its campaign promises, citing the cost of living as a key concern among citizens and pointing to fuel prices as a major contributor.
The Murang’a engagements form part of a broader schedule of public meetings by opposition leaders across different regions as political activity continues to build ahead of the next general election.
