Investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have intensified efforts to uncover the cause of the deadly fire that tore through a dormitory at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County, leaving 16 students dead and scores injured. Authorities are now exploring claims of possible arson and allegations that an emergency exit remained locked during the tragedy.

The devastating blaze broke out in the early hours of Thursday morning at one of the school’s dormitories, sending hundreds of students into panic as flames spread rapidly through the building.
