KISUMU, Kenya, Oct 27 – Police in Kisumu Central Sub-County have arrested a 21-year-old suspected armed robber following a dramatic early morning shootout within the city’s Central Business District, during which an AK-47 rifle was recovered.
According to police reports, officers on patrol along Otieno Oyoo Street responded swiftly after hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, they found the suspect attempting to raid a residential home.
Kisumu Central Deputy Police Commander Bakari Mwanauli said the suspect, identified as Kelvin Oduor, alias Kevo, opened fire on the officers, forcing them to engage in a brief exchange of gunfire before overpowering and apprehending him.
