Stolen Police Uniforms Recovered as Suspect Arrested in Murang’a
The items included jungle trousers, a shirt bearing a corporal’s chevron, and a blue police jersey

Police in Kigumo Sub-County have arrested a man suspected to be behind the theft of police uniforms in the Kangari area of Murang’a County.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers from Kangari Police Station, acting on intelligence, apprehended the suspect and recovered several police-issued items during the operation
The items included jungle trousers, a shirt bearing a corporal’s chevron, and a blue police jersey

Preliminary investigations indicate that the uniforms were stolen from a police station in Nyamira North. The suspect is currently being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned

In a statement, NPS reaffirmed its determination to protect government property and curb the misuse of police equipment, warning that such malpractice could jeopardize public safety and national security
The incident comes amid increased scrutiny on the circulation of stolen or counterfeit police gear, which security agencies warn could be exploited for criminal activities
