Police Seize 990 Litres of Illicit Chang’aa in Siaya

Siaya County police recovered 990 litres of illicit brew, locally known as chang’aa, on Sunday at Uuna area within South East Alego location
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the discovery followed a motor vehicle collision with a motorcycle, after which the car driver fled the scene

Officers responding to the incident found 18 sacks containing sachets of the suspected illicit brew. “Five sacks were found inside the vehicle, while thirteen sacks had been concealed near the scene,” the NPS reported

The seized alcohol has been secured as evidence, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend those involved in the illegal trade. Authorities also vowed to continue operations against illicit brews to protect the public
