A heater was even placed behind her to dry her soaked clothes and provide comfort amid the chilly weather

Despite the harsh conditions, Muthoni remained steadfast, foregoing jackets or sweaters to demonstrate her dedication to protecting indigenous trees and the environment

As she crossed the 48-hour mark, she chose to blindfold herself in solidarity with persons with disabilities, highlighting the intersection of environmental and social justice

Residents and officials celebrated the achievement with songs and cheers, motivating Muthoni as she entered the final stretch toward the 72-hour mark
