Nyamira County Governor Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo has been officially impeached following a vote in the County Assembly
Twenty-three of the thirty-one Members of County Assembly (MCAs) present supported the motion, while four others had requested to be included in the voting process

Governor Nyaribo was accused of conducting county business through informal “Bunge Mashinani” sessions, which lacked legal recognition
He was also criticised for approving the county budget to endorse Peris Nyaboke-Oroko as County Agriculture Minister during a disputed leadership period, outside the established legal framework

Additional allegations involved irregular appointments of committee members for Keroka town and the unlawful establishment of a Public Service Board appointment panel, all carried out through the unofficial assembly sessions between October 2024 and June 2025
