Nairobi United FC are brimming with confidence ahead of today’s highly anticipated Kenya Premier League clash against AFC Leopards at Nyayo National Stadium
The rescheduled fixture, set for 3 PM, marks the first-ever top-flight encounter between the two sides. AFC Leopards will be aiming to reclaim the top spot they lost following a 1-0 defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz last Sunday
Former champions Gor Mahia took advantage of AFC Leopards’ slip to move back to the top of the table, securing a 4-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks on Tuesday
Gor now lead with 26 points after 13 matches, two points above Kakamega Homeboyz, while AFC Leopards sit third on 24 points after 14 matches

Nairobi United captain John Otieno acknowledged the challenge posed by the well-supported Leopards but expressed optimism
“It’s going to be a big game. AFC Leopards have a massive following, but we have confidence in ourselves. We take it one match at a time, and we’re aiming to secure maximum points,” Otieno said
He added that success would come from both defense and attack working as a unit: “To score, we must defend well, and to defend well, we must attack as a team. That’s how we’ll get the scoreline we want”
