Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has condemned the actions of a Russian national who sparked widespread outrage online after allegedly exposing several Kenyan women he claimed to have had sexual encounters with
In a strongly worded statement, Mwaura accused the foreigner of exploiting the women and violating their privacy by reportedly recording and sharing intimate footage without their consent
“I condemn the Russian man for taking advantage of our ladies,” Mwaura said. “However, as Africans, we must also learn to love ourselves. Our women should not perceive that everyone who is white is automatically wealthy”
He cautioned Kenyan women against entering relationships with foreigners based on perceived affluence, warning that such assumptions could expose them to manipulation, exploitation, and reputational damage

“We must love ourselves so that we are not deceived into doing things that go against our values and allow others to look down upon us,” he added
Beyond condemning the incident, Mwaura urged Kenyans to reflect on what he described as a gradual erosion of cultural values, arguing that this shift has left many vulnerable to risky behaviour and external manipulation
He emphasized the need for a cultural reawakening grounded in self-worth, dignity, and respect
Addressing broader social concerns, Mwaura outlined ongoing government interventions aimed at supporting women, youth, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens
He revealed that enrollment in cash transfer programmes for marginalised groups is being expanded with increased funding. According to the spokesperson:
- Grants for persons with severe disabilities have risen from 46,000 beneficiaries to 63,938
- Support for orphans and vulnerable children now covers 438,804 beneficiaries
- A total of 1,213,214 senior citizens are receiving government assistance

Mwaura added that the government is implementing the Building Code 2024 alongside the Persons with Disabilities Act 2025 to improve accessibility in public buildings
Additionally, the Older Persons Bill 2025 is being developed to enhance protection and care for senior citizens. Plans are also underway to train 600,000 mothers and sole caregivers to access government procurement opportunities
He noted that these initiatives form part of a broader national strategy to promote dignity, inclusion, and economic empowerment among Kenya’s most vulnerable populations
