Linda Mwananchi Faction Takes Campaign to Nakuru Amid ODM Tensions
The Linda Mwananchi faction within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is set to hold a series of public engagements in Nakuru today as part of its ongoing nationwide mobilisation activities.

According to the programme released by the group, the leaders will begin the day with a church service at Kivumbini PAG Church in Nakuru Town East before proceeding to Mazembe Grounds in Nakuru Town West, where a political rally is scheduled to take place later in the day.
The Nakuru event comes amid continued internal disagreements within ODM involving several senior party officials. Siaya Governor James Orengo recently confirmed that he met members of the Luo community in Nakuru to discuss the party’s future and internal affairs.
In previous statements, Orengo has indicated that he remains a member of ODM and intends to continue participating in its activities. He has also referenced the legacy of Raila Odinga in relation to the party’s history and development.
Other leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi faction include Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who have also been involved in recent political engagements linked to the group.
The emergence of the faction followed a political development involving Oburu Odinga and President William Ruto, which drew varied reactions from members within ODM.
Separately, a dispute over the position of Secretary General has remained unresolved after Sifuna was removed from the role. He has since contested the decision, maintaining that he is still the legitimate office holder.
The matter was referred to the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal, which temporarily halted the implementation of changes to the party’s leadership, pending further deliberations.
The Linda Mwananchi faction has continued to organise meetings and rallies in different parts of the country as it engages supporters. The Nakuru rally is one of several activities planned as part of these ongoing engagements.
