Heavy Rains Displace Over 70 Families in Homa Bay

More than 70 families were displaced and forced to spend the night in the cold after heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in Kaksingri Central Location, Suba Central Sub-County, Homa Bay County
At least 20 homes were destroyed when the downpour struck the area around 9:00 pm, according to Kaksingri Central Location Chief Daniel Magadi
The floods submerged houses up to half their wall height, leaving residents with nowhere to sleep

The torrential rains also caused extensive damage to shops, household furniture, utensils, and fishing beaches, with losses estimated at over six million shillings
Chief Magadi has called on the Homa Bay County Disaster Management Team and emergency response units to urgently assist the affected families, who are in dire need of food, temporary shelter, bedding, and other essential supplies
