Four Gor Mahia players sustained minor injuries in a road accident on Friday morning while heading to a training session along the Outering Road
The club confirmed the incident, stating that vice-captain Austine Odhiambo, Fidel Origa, Joshua Onyango, and Felix Oluoch were involved
They were immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment and have since been discharged
“Four of our players, Austine, Fidel, Joshua, and Felix, were involved in an accident this morning en route to training. All were treated for minor injuries and discharged. They are all fine,” Gor Mahia said in a statement

Following the accident, the team cancelled Friday’s training session. Fans took to social media to wish the players a speedy recovery, with messages emphasizing relief that the injuries were minor
The incident comes at a time when Gor Mahia had no scheduled match this weekend
The Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards, originally set for Saturday at Nyayo National Stadium, was postponed due to the stadium being unavailable for a government function

Kasarani Stadium, the alternative venue, is also booked for Nairobi United’s CAF Confederation Cup game. The derby has been rescheduled for next week
