DCP Leader Claims State Interference in Narok Campaign, Cites Roadblocks and Intimidation
In a strongly worded statement, Gachagua alleged that the “cowardly and brutal regime” deployed security officers to block his movements
Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has accused the government of issuing directives to prevent him and his entourage from accessing Narok Town, where he was scheduled to campaign for the party’s Narok Ward candidate, Hon. Douglas Masikonde
In a strongly worded statement, Gachagua alleged that the “cowardly and brutal regime” deployed security officers to block his movements
He, however, claimed that local residents helped him navigate alternative village routes unknown to police, enabling him to make what he described as a “triumphant entry” into Narok Town

According to Gachagua, thousands of jubilant supporters welcomed him, demonstrating what he termed as the strength and unity of the people against intimidation
“The villagers triumphed, and we have affirmed that the will of the people is supreme,” he stated, expressing confidence that the upcoming November 27, 2025 by-election would reflect the electorate’s resolve
He further condemned alleged police brutality and attempts to intimidate the electorate, insisting that Kenyans would not be cowed

Gachagua thanked the youth of Narok for what he said was unwavering support, adding that Kenya “is not an ordinary African country to be turned into a monarch”
The by-election is expected to draw heightened political attention, with DCP seeking to strengthen its foothold in the region
