Gospel star Betty Bayo’s final journey began with heartbreaking scenes on Thursday, November 20, as her family arrived at the Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home to view her body before it was transported to her home in Mugumo Estate for burial
In a sombre video shared online, Bayo’s husband Hiram Gitau (Tash) and her two children, Sky Victor and Danny, were seen walking slowly into the facility, dressed in formal black attire that reflected the weight of the moment
Tash wore a dark green suit and sunglasses, while Sky appeared in a long-sleeved black dress. Danny accompanied them in a black half-coat, crisp white shirt, and tie. As they approached the entrance, Tash was heard gently urging the family on: “Let’s go. Time is bad”

Bayo’s ex-husband, Prophet Victor Kanyari, was also present at the morgue, arriving in a Lexus LX570 accompanied by a separate vehicle
Large crowds including friends, fans, and content creators gathered for the body viewing, prompting a preacher to intervene and create space for the family
He issued a strict warning against filming inside the viewing area, cautioning that anyone taking photos risked confiscation of their devices

According to Kikuyu traditions, viewing was to happen exclusively at the morgue. Afterward, Bayo’s casket would be sealed and transported to Ndumberi Stadium for a funeral service before the final burial rites
Some mourners described Bayo’s appearance as peaceful, with one TikToker noting that the morticians had “done a great job, she looked like she was asleep.” Many were seen breaking down after exiting the viewing room
Bayo’s body was scheduled to be ferried in a Mercedes-Benz limousine hearse from the morgue to Ndumberi Stadium, and later taken to her Mugumo Estate home for burial marking the final chapter of a life that touched thousands through music and ministry
