The Kenya Red Cross has reported that ongoing deadly tribal clashes in Angata Barikkoi, Trans Mara South, Narok County, have displaced more than 1,800 people in just three days
According to the humanitarian organization, 253 households have been destroyed by fire, forcing affected families to seek shelter in schools, dispensaries, open areas, and under trees
Children, women, and persons with disabilities are among the most affected, with food stores and essential property lost in the violence

Kenya Red Cross confirmed that it is actively conducting assessments, providing psychosocial support, and mobilizing further aid for the displaced communities
The clashes, involving the Maasai and Kipsigis communities, have also resulted in multiple fatalities and widespread property destruction
Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat has called for peaceful coexistence and urged calm during the festive season

He warned against politicians and individuals inciting and financing the fighting
President William Ruto and Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntuntu have engaged with local leaders, elders, and residents in efforts to resolve the conflict and restore peace in the area
The situation remains tense, with humanitarian teams working on the ground to assist displaced residents
