Opposition Leaders Slam President Ruto Over ‘Collapse’ of Key Sectors

Leaders from the United Opposition have accused President William Ruto’s administration of mismanaging Kenya’s education, health, and economic sectors, citing corruption, wasteful spending, and poor leadership
Speaking at separate events across the country, opposition figures from the DCP, Jubilee, and Wiper parties said the government has reversed progress made by previous administrations and worsened the cost of living for ordinary Kenyans
DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua, while addressing congregants at PCEA Kayole Parish in Nairobi, criticized the President’s leadership style

“Within three years, you have ruined education and health. You even say children should be shot in the leg. How can you claim you’ll make Kenya a leading nation in the world?”
Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i also faulted the government for “extravagance and misplaced priorities,” saying it operates “as if Kenya were a developed nation.”
“We have an opulent and wasteful government big offices, big titles. Which developing country behaves like this?” he asked during a service at Life Church International, Limuru
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka condemned the use of force by security agencies against protesters, calling it a worrying sign of authoritarianism. He praised Gen Z–led movements across Africa as “a powerful testament to a new generation demanding accountability and transparency”

The leaders further accused President Ruto of rewarding political allies with unnecessary advisory positions instead of focusing on national development.
“This is not the time to have a truckload of advisors every political stillborn being made into something,” Matiang’i added
The United Opposition, positioning itself as a key challenger to President Ruto in the 2027 general election, continues to intensify grassroots mobilization nationwide
