NACADA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anthony Omerikwa said the timing of the operation was deliberate, coinciding with the school holiday season
A multi-agency operation led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has confiscated more than 250 boxes of illicit alcohol in Mosoriot Market, Nandi County
One suspect was arrested during the joint raid carried out with officers from the National Police Service (NPS). The operation forms part of a national crackdown on counterfeit and non-compliant alcohol products
The seized items have been taken to government laboratories for analysis to determine their chemical composition and compliance with safety regulations
NACADA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anthony Omerikwa said the timing of the operation was deliberate, coinciding with the school holiday season

“This crackdown is a proactive measure to sanitise our communities before our children come home,” Dr. Omerikwa explained. “Idle time presents a significant risk, and the substances we seized today are the kind that prey on vulnerable youth. We are acting to remove this poison from circulation”
He further urged parents and guardians to take an active role in monitoring their children during the holiday period
