Two Nyandarua Boys Hospitalised After Alleged Brutal Torture by Their Father

Two young boys, aged one and a half and seven years, have been rescued from their father’s custody in Gathuthi village, Nyandarua County, following reports of severe physical abuse

According to witnesses, the minors were subjected to repeated torture, including beatings with ropes and other crude objects, allegedly as punishment for minor mistakes

Concerned residents, in collaboration with officials from the Nyandarua County NGAAF office, intervened and rescued the children. They were later rushed to JM Kariuki Memorial Hospital, where they received emergency treatment for multiple injuries

Medical Superintendent Dr. Beatrice Mugure confirmed that the children sustained superficial wounds and burn injuries consistent with assault. She added that the boys were treated and are now in safe hands under medical care

The children’s mother, Sarah Wambui, and grandfather, Peter Githinji, revealed that the abuse had been ongoing for some time, and their previous attempts to report the matter were thwarted by threats from the suspect

The father, who fled after the rescue, is being pursued by authorities

Ms. Muchina urged the public to remain vigilant and report any cases of child abuse, stressing that communities must protect children and ensure offenders face justice
