President Samia Suluhu to Be Sworn In Amid Opposition Claims of Hundreds Killed in Tanzania Election

Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan is set to be inaugurated for a new term following her landslide victory in a hotly contested election

However, the opposition has alleged widespread irregularities and claims that hundreds of people were killed during post-election violence

Opposition leaders have rejected the results, accusing security forces of using excessive force against protesters and suppressing dissent

Human rights organizations have also called for independent investigations into the reported killings and detentions

Despite the controversy, the government maintains that the election was free and fair, urging citizens to move forward in unity as Suluhu prepares to take the oath of office in Dodoma
