A multi-agency security team has shut down an illegal alcohol production operation in Soin Sub-County, Kericho, seizing a large quantity of materials used in illicit brewing
The National Police Service (NPS) said the operation targeted a homestead in the Mumwet area of Kaplelach Location suspected of manufacturing contraband alcoholic products
During the raid, officers recovered a variety of items used in the production of second-generation alcoholic drinks, including counterfeit excise stamps, bottle caps, branded packaging boxes, suspected ethanol, and hundreds of fake stickers

A vehicle believed to have been used to transport the illegal products was also impounded. The suspects fled upon noticing the presence of law enforcement officers
“The National Police Service, in collaboration with partner agencies, remains committed to protecting the public from harmful and unregulated alcoholic products, which pose serious health and safety risks

Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the illegal operation
