LSK Campaigns Conclude Ahead of Crucial February 19 Polls

Campaigns for the upcoming elections of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) have officially come to a close, setting the stage for a highly anticipated vote scheduled for February 19, 2026

The end of the campaign period wraps up weeks of intense lobbying, public debates, and nationwide engagements by candidates seeking to steer the affairs of the country’s legal fraternity

Lawyers across Kenya are expected to cast their ballots to elect new office bearers, including the President, Vice President, and Council Members

The contest for the presidency has drawn significant attention, with Peter Wanyama, Charles Kanjama, and Mwaura Kabata emerging as the frontrunners. The trio has campaigned on platforms centered on institutional reforms, accountability, and strengthening the voice and independence of the Bar

Their final appeals to members come as anticipation builds within legal circles over the direction the society will take in the coming term

This year’s LSK election is unfolding against a charged political backdrop, as Kenya edges closer to the next General Elections. The outcome is expected to shape the society’s role in national constitutional discourse, governance oversight, and defense of the rule of law
