President William Ruto escalated his criticism of the opposition during the third day of his Ukambani tour, accusing its leaders of fueling hatred and resistance against his administration
Ruto, who expressed confidence in defeating his rivals in the 2027 General Election, faulted the opposition for allegedly lacking alternative solutions to government policies they oppose

The President also hinted at behind-the-scenes efforts to woo Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka into joining the government
“Akili yao yote inaanza kwa ukabila inapitia kwa chuki na matusi… wanapinga affordable housing, hostels, markets, SHA,” he said, dismissing the opposition’s stance as baseless resistance without offering viable options

Ruto argued that Kenyans should judge him by his track record at the end of his first five years in office, maintaining that the opposition’s “empty rhetoric” would not stand against his government’s achievements
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki reinforced the push for the proposed Infrastructure Fund, urging legislators to support it to facilitate the construction of 10,000 kilometers of new roads, the generation of 10,000 megawatts of energy, and the establishment of 50 major dams
