President Ruto Hails DP Kindiki’s Dedication and Service to the Nation

The Head of State commended Prof. Kindiki for tirelessly supporting government efforts to drive development across all regions of Kenya, noting that leadership and service transcend community and background

President William Ruto has praised Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki for his focus, hard work and unwavering commitment to serving the country, saying his background has not hindered his performance in office

The Head of State commended Prof. Kindiki for tirelessly supporting government efforts to drive development across all regions of Kenya, noting that leadership and service transcend community and background

“I am very proud that the office I once occupied is now held by a very capable and professional leader who also comes from a minority group in Mt Kenya,” President Ruto said

He added that Prof. Kindiki’s service is a clear demonstration that dedication and competence remain the key pillars of leadership in the country

The President spoke on Thursday at State House, Nairobi, during celebrations to mark International Minorities Rights Day

Speaking at the same event, the Deputy President described his position as a privilege and a testament to Kenya’s commitment to equal opportunity for all citizens

“If anyone doubts whether Kenya is a land of equal opportunity, I am living proof that it is possible for anyone, from any background, to occupy any position and contribute to national development,” Prof. Kindiki said

He further assured minority and indigenous communities that the government remains committed to protecting their rights, adding that the Constitution strongly guards against discrimination

“Marginalization reflects a painful chapter in our past, where minority communities were most affected. Going forward, we must integrate all communities and move ahead as one nation,” the Deputy President said

During the event, President Ruto launched the National Policy on Ethnic Minorities, Indigenous and Marginalized Communities, aimed at promoting inclusion in national development and safeguarding communities from all forms of discrimination

The celebrations were attended by hundreds of representatives from minority communities drawn from across the country
