Narok Clergy Call for Investigation into Nandi Helicopter Crash That Killed Six

Clergy in Narok County have urged the government to launch a thorough investigation into the helicopter crash in Nandi County that claimed the lives of six people, including Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno
The religious leaders made the appeal during their Annual General Meeting at the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) Church in Narok town. Led by the assistant patron of the Narok County Pastors Association, Julius Nalamai, the clergy said establishing the cause of the crash would help dispel speculation, restore public confidence and prevent similar tragedies in the future
“We want the government to take action and ascertain the cause of the accident. This will give the families closure and help the country move forward,” Nalamai said. He also called on residents to remain calm and maintain peace as burial preparations continue
Association chairman Bishop Peter Nakola described the crash as a tragic loss that has sent shockwaves across Narok County and beyond

A memorial service for the six victims was held at the Africa Gospel Church in Karen, Nairobi, ahead of the burial scheduled for Friday, March 6
Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, who is also Ng’eno’s father-in-law, said the bodies of the MP and his protocol officer Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono would spend the night at his home in line with Kipsigis customary rites
A joint burial service for the other four victims pilot Captain George Were, forest ranger Amos Kipng’etich, journalist Nick Kosgey and teacher Robert Keter, popularly known as “Mwalimu Carlos” will be held at Emurua Dikirr Primary School. The bodies will later be taken to their respective homes for separate burials
The helicopter crashed in Mosop, Nandi County, on Saturday afternoon
Those who died include MP Johanna Ng’eno, pilot George Were, journalist Nick Kosgey, Kenya Forest Service officer and bodyguard Amos Kipng’etich, teacher Carlos Keter and Narok County government employee Wycliffe Rono
Leaders have continued to call for unity and restraint as investigations into the cause of the crash get underway
