Nairobi County Officer Mosiria Finds Doctors Absent During Surprise Hospital Visits

During his visit to Karen Health Centre, he discovered that some doctors had not reported for duty by 8:00 a.m

 Geoffrey Mosiria, Nairobi County Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service, launched his new role with surprise inspections at local hospitals, uncovering cases of staff absenteeism

On Tuesday, November 25, Mosiria visited several county hospitals to assess service delivery and ensure Nairobi residents receive quality healthcare

During his visit to Karen Health Centre, he discovered that some doctors had not reported for duty by 8:00 a.m

“It is 9:30 a.m., yet you have not arrived at the hospital. Do you report on duty at 9:00 a.m.?” Mosiria asked one doctor during the inspection

Similar absenteeism among nurses was noted at other facilities

Mosiria urged county employees to prioritize serving residents with respect and professionalism

“Our clients  the people of Nairobi deserve dignity, timely, and high-quality services. I am committed to strengthening the relationship between Nairobi County staff and the city’s residents,” he said

Mosiria also encouraged the public to report complaints or compliments regarding county services to maintain high standards of care

The Chief Officer’s initiative reflects Nairobi County’s renewed focus on accountability and efficient service delivery across all public facilities
