UDA Dismisses Gachagua’s ‘Drama Script’ After Violence Claims in Mbeere North
However, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar dismissed the claims, describing Gachagua’s statement as “a satirical drama script built on falsehoods”
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has strongly dismissed allegations by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that he faces threats of violence ahead of the November 27 Mbeere North by-election
Gachagua had earlier claimed that social media videos circulating online contained threats against him and urged Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to act swiftly and arrest the culprits
However, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar dismissed the claims, describing Gachagua’s statement as “a satirical drama script built on falsehoods”
The party accused the Deputy President of attempting to incite unrest and division in the region, adding that his letter reflects “a flawed political record marked by abusive and divisive rhetoric”

UDA also refuted Gachagua’s assertions that close allies of Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku were behind the alleged threats. Instead, the party said Mbeere North residents have pledged to maintain peace throughout the campaign period
Turning the tables on Gachagua, UDA accused him of defrauding a local MP candidate by issuing a fake nomination certificate under the defunct DCP Party
“As you plan to set foot in Mbeere territory, prepare to refund every penny you swindled from their kinsmen. This is not political opposition; it is a demand for basic financial accountability,” the statement read

The ruling party emphasized that it would not be distracted by Gachagua’s theatrics and remains committed to peaceful campaigns for its candidate, Leo Wamuthende
“You are well advised that the peace-loving people of Mbeere have no intentions of castrating you or interfering with any part of your anatomy,” UDA added, in a thinly veiled response to Gachagua’s dramatic claims
The Mbeere North by-election is among 23 mini-polls scheduled by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for November 27, 2025
