Mental Test Delays Trial of Suspect in State House GSU Officer’s Killing

According to the prosecution, Musyimi was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital last week for mental assessment, but the report is expected to be ready in two weeks

The trial of Kithuka Kimunyi Musyimi, the main suspect accused of murdering a General Service Unit (GSU) officer stationed at State House, Nairobi, has been delayed pending the results of a mental evaluation.

According to the prosecution, Musyimi was referred to Kenyatta National Hospital last week for mental assessment, but the report is expected to be ready in two weeks

The court heard that the findings will determine whether he is mentally fit to take plea in connection with the killing

The court directed that the case be mentioned again on November 27, when the medical report will be presented and further directions issued

Musyimi is accused of fatally attacking a GSU officer attached to the State House security team, leading to the current murder proceedings against him
