Kiambu Health in Crisis,Wamuchomba Slams Wamatangi’s ‘PR Stunt’ in hospitals
She cited ruiru hospital as an example of neglect, noting that the hospital still lacks basic facilities such as mosquito nets. According to Wamuchomba, patients are often asked to bring their own mosquito nets, a situation she described as unacceptable for a public health institution.

Gathoni Wamuchomba has criticized Governor James Wamatangi, accusing him of using the county’s health facilities as a platform for publicity rather than addressing pressing healthcare needs.
Speaking during a recent public forum, Wamuchomba alleged that Governor Wamatangi engages in media-driven campaigns to portray himself as actively improving healthcare in Kiambu. She specifically claimed that he transports X-ray machines from one hospital to another solely for media coverage, giving the impression of service delivery.

“Governor Wamatangi carries X-ray machines to different hospitals so the media can see him working. This is not real service; it is a show,” Wamuchomba said.

Wamuchomba emphasized that the people of Kiambu deserve genuine improvements in healthcare, including adequately equipped hospitals and essential medical supplies, rather than staged publicity events.
