The charges were approved by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) after a probe conducted between January 28 and February 24
Prosecutors allege that Liluma exploited his role at KMPDC to facilitate the unlawful registration of several health facilities, allowing them to submit claims and receive payments from SHA under false pretences
The arrest forms part of a wider crackdown targeting hospital owners, directors, and regulatory officials suspected of participating in fraudulent SHA registration and payment schemes
Directors of Danaba Care Hospital, Adfaal Kids Care Medical Centre, and Kamishawa Medical Centre are among those set to face prosecution
Proprietors of Kaafi Nursing Home, Mama Nerbeel Nursing Home, Alati Nursing Home, Julun Nursing Home, and Dimtu Nursing Home Limited have also been charged
Authorities say investigations uncovered cases of illegal enrollment of health institutions, operation without valid licenses, and acquisition of public funds through deceit
