Police Arrest Nine Suspected Members of Armed Criminal Gang in Kakamega
The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in court. Police say the recovered weapons have been secured as evidence

Nine suspects have been arrested in Kakamega following a security operation targeting an organised criminal gang accused of attacking police officers and vandalising property
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the joint operation was carried out in the Bushangala area, where officers recovered several weapons including machetes, bows and arrows, and a club
The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to be arraigned in court. Police say the recovered weapons have been secured as evidence
In a statement, NPS commended members of the public for sharing crucial intelligence that aided the arrests, as well as the officers involved for their swift and coordinated response

The arrests come amid heightened efforts by security agencies to dismantle criminal networks operating in various parts of the country
