The Kenya Red Cross on Wednesday night rescued a man who had been stranded by rising floodwaters in the Kolati-Tula area of Tana River County
According to a statement from the humanitarian organization, the victim made several distress calls after being trapped by flash floods triggered by the ongoing heavy rains that have affected several parts of the country

In a statement posted on X, the organization urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and avoid crossing or wading through moving waters
“Residents are urged to stay safe, keep away from flooded areas, and avoid crossing moving waters,” the statement read
