At least seven people were killed and hundreds of livestock stolen on Friday following a series of coordinated bandit attacks in various parts of Meru County
Meru County Peace and Herders Chairman Charles Kamwibua confirmed that two people were killed in the Igembe region, while five others lost their lives in Ngaremara, Isiolo County, during an attempt by herders to recover stolen animals
According to officials, over 400 livestock were stolen in Igembe and more than 200 in Tigania. Another raid occurred later in the evening at Maili Saba in Buuri Constituency, heightening tension and fear among residents

Security agencies have launched investigations and intensified operations in the affected areas as leaders call for urgent intervention to curb the rising insecurity
