Police Shoot Two Alleged Robbers in Thika

Law enforcement officers have fatally shot two men believed to have carried out a robbery at a local store in Ngoingwa village, Thika, Kiambu County, on Wednesday morning.

Thika West Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi reported that the individuals are suspected to be part of a larger group that also targeted a school, resulting in injuries to two security guards.

Tragically, one of the security guards succumbed to the injuries sustained during the incident while undergoing medical treatment.

As per the police chief, the two suspects breached the shop by cutting through the perimeter wall. They were apprehended in the midst of removing and packing stolen goods.

“Investigations have commenced, and law enforcement is committed to restoring safety in this area. We are determined to address the challenges posed by these young criminals and eliminate security concerns in this locality,” stated Mr. Muchangi.

Authorities in the area are currently in pursuit of other suspects who managed to escape, sustaining gunshot injuries during the confrontation.
