Meteorological Department Warns of Potential Flooding.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall across various regions of Kenya starting from Tuesday next week.

According to the forecast released on Monday, heavy downpours are anticipated in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Southeast lowlands, Coast, Northeast, and Northwest regions from April 2 to April 8.

n light of this forecast, the Meteorological Department has advised Kenyans to prepare for potential flooding in these areas.

Additionally, high temperatures are expected in Turkana, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, and Kwale counties. Daytime temperatures are projected to exceed 30°C over the next seven days, with nighttime temperatures remaining high, surpassing 25°C, particularly along the Coast and in North-eastern Kenya.

This weather pattern coincides with the onset of the long-rains season, which typically begins in mid-March and extends through May in most parts of Kenya.
