Kenya and Tanzania resolves the recent travel restrictions

Kenya and Tanzania have successfully resolved the recent travel restrictions that arose when Nairobi initially denied Air Tanzania cargo rights at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. In response, Tanzania imposed restrictions on Kenya Airways flights to Dar Es Salaam, escalating diplomatic tensions.

However, positive developments emerged as the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that Kenya granted Air Tanzania 5th freedom traffic rights for all cargo services.

This marked a significant step towards collaboration and eased the tensions. Tanzania promptly lifted the ban on Kenya Airways flights on the Dar-Nairobi route following discussions led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who assured a swift resolution within three days.
